I have not disappeared just yet, mainly going through some very demanding times at the moment. Which leaves me almost no time to do the things I used to do. I am sorting these issues out and I am planning to return to the blogging world sometime soon. I am Still Alive! I Promise!

Hello Everyone!

It has been a while since I have made a post on here and Ido sincerely apologize. Working full time and trying to maintain sanity isproving to be quite a chore! But I am beginning to manage more and more witheach passing day.

I wanted to share a few things with you and tell you of afew upcoming events you may be interested in reading about. As some of you mayknow, I am nearing the completion of my Master’s Degree in Engineering and havebeen holding a full time, salaried position for a while now. I have nointentions of closing the blog down or cancelling my postings, so no worriesthere. If anything, the postings from now on will be more meaningful and moreof a chronicle of my adventures in and out of Spandex around the world.

In the coming weeks, there are a few events coming up. Firstand foremost, this coming weekend, I will be in San Francisco for the annualFolsom Street Faire. I will be roaming the streets out for new gear, meet newpeople, and have a little fun while I am at it. The plan is to be there for theentirety and then retire back in the late evening.

Another event coming up is of course Halloween! This year Ihave something radically different from my normal attire planned and I thinkyou will all like it very much.

The last bit I wanted to share is what I plan to do in thecoming months with this blog. As you all know, and I am sure have seen, thehundreds of other blogs that seem to come and go each month that post hundredsof pictures (in most cases the same pictures) over and over again. I want tobuild this blog to something more than that. I am hoping to sort of make itinto a digital memoir, something I can look back on and say that I am happy tohave accomplished this much. Don’t worry, I will still post photos, but I hopeyou will also find the written content light and fun to read through.

Okay, back to work, and I will try my hardest to get a post-upsoon and definitely one up for the Folsom Street Faire.

Back from Yosemite!

Last weekend, I finally had the time to visit one of my favorite places in Northern California, upper Yosemite National Park. The weather was absolutely perfect in every way, warm, little to no wind, and no rain or thunderstorms! So I took perfect time to take a trip up to the top of one of the local peaks and check out the local view. Just some information, the peak I climbed is Tioga Peak near Tuolumne Meadows, CA. It rises to a height of just about 11,526ft above sea level, and offers a view of some of the tallest peaks in Yosemite.

The hike started off in the normal mountaineering attire of my usual Utilikilt and O'Neil Rashguard.

And after the hike, I was feeling quite warm, so more came off :)

Until finally, mission accomplished ;)

I found it only appropriate to break in my newest suit with a mountain climb ;)

The trip overall was a blast, minus the pesky mosquitoes, but I am definitely planning to do it again before the snows hit again!

Off on Another Adventure!

Hey Everyone!

This weekend, I am off on another High Sierra Adventure! Going to be spending some time around the Tioga Peak and Mt. Conness, California regions. Hopefully, we will make it to the top of Conness this time after 2 previous failed attempts. As always I will try my best to get photos and make a posting when I get back!

As a note, we are nearing the 100,000 visitor mark soon! I have a few things planned for a celebration after i return. So stay tuned!

Bear River Reservoir, California Adventure

Last weekend, the weather here in Northern California was perfect for a Saturday trip to the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Last year, about this same time, I visited Bear River Reservoir, which is a short drive from where I live, and is well worth the travel time.

The adventure started off with a quick stop at one of my favorite overlooks, looking back West from the Mountains back onto the Great Valley.

The elevation at this particular overlook is about 6,000 feet and usually has a clear view back over the trees and down into the valley. There were several fires and the valley smog which obscured part of the view on Saturday.

Finally, we arrived at the lake and I couldn't wait to jump in. After working several long weeks, I was ready for a jump into a freezing alpine lake! So I donned the wet suit and in I went. And just as an FYI, the water temperature at Bear River Reservoir is usually right around 48-51 degrees Fahrenheit.

After a few hundred yards or so of swimming, I had enough of the cold water for the day. It was fun to find all sorts of things along the shore though, from large tree branches to large rocks, and a few other things.

After the swim, off came the wet suit and here was the result:

For this trip, I actually brought along an assortment of Speedos, but settled on the green TYR Durafast Polyester Apollo briefs I love. I also love the striking color of this suit.

Of the shots at the lake, I really fell in love with this one:

The day concluded with a trip up a local hill to an astronomy party. Where I brought along my telescope and spent the night under the stars in good company. And here is a photo of the sights from atop the hill and the epic sunset that night:

Late July Posting

Hello Everyone,

August is quickly approaching which means swim season starts back up soon, as well as competitive diving season, but it also means that Summer is quickly passing. I wanted to make a quick post tonight to fill everyone in on a few things that are happening for me in my life right now, as well as a few things to come for the blog.

To start off, right now I have been swamped with work at my new position at the university with more work than I ever expected. They sure do know how to request things and definitely know how to keep their employees busy. In late August, school starts back up, and I am still working on my Masters. So things will likely be quite busy around then, but I think I can manage :)

Also, as Fall approaches here in the USA, I am thinking of creating a neat series dedicated to the different colors of Fall. In a way, celebrating the vibrant colors of the trees and foliage throughout California.

I do have a few trips ahead to the high country as well as the beach, so I am excited to bring a few exciting new posts with full photos from there. I will keep you posted on how those developed.

The other thing I wanted to bring up is I am beginning to open up the blog to help support independent companies and help them get their message out there. Recently, I was contacted by STUDZgear about an advertising deal. After some thought and working over the details, I posted a link to their site on the right navigation pane. And I am finishing up a few photosets from this year which I will post in my next post :) Since then, I have packed on about 10lbs of muscle, and I have attained the healthy stats of: 6'0, 144lbs and I still have my 28" waist. And I have never felt healthier :)

A few photos to hold us over :)

Hey Everyone,

My apologies for not posting in a while, as some of you know I have taken on a new job at the university and now work a typical 40 hour a week work week. That is Monday through Friday for 8 hours a day. The good news is it is stable income and I do enjoy my job. I am trying my best to put together posts, but they will probably be a little erratic at first while I still adjust to the new schedule.

Okay, I thought I had a lot more photos to post, but I couldn't find too many aside from the photos that I took at San Francisco PRIDE. I decided this year to put together one of my more favorite outfits, my Adidas Black Gymnasts Singlet, and my usual Utilikilt + Boots. I always get compliments in the outfit and it is definitely fun to run about in.

So there are a few photos to hold everyone over until next time. As I embark on a new adventure to begin my professional career, I will keep you posted on what is happening and of course, whenever spandex or lycra, hell, anything skin tight is involved, I will try to make a post.

Welcome to Summer of 2011! Cali-Style

Hey All,

Today marks the first day of summer, officially, for those of us living in the the Northern half of the globe. And the weather here was definitely appropriately summer like with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Otherwise, a great day overall, but quite warm.

For this post, I have photos from two occasions, more from diving and others from a little TLC we gave the house I live in.

Lets jump right in with diving:

Many more diving pictures to come soon. And possibly a competition coming up soon, so plenty more diving photos in the future. I always look forward to looking at the photos as the facial expressions and contortions I perform always make me laugh.

Ok, on to the house painting party we threw to help give our 80+ year old house a face lift. I started off the day like this:

But then it occurred to me. If I don't want to get paint on my clothes, and I would love to work on my tan, plus it is hot outside. Hmm, what would be the next best thing to painting naked? Haha. A Speedo of Course!!!

Well an old Speedo, but I didn't want to get paint on any of my nice newer ones ;)

Sacramento PRIDE Rained Out and Its Been a While!

This summer so far has been nothing short of busy with all that has been going on lately and all the changes coming. The past three weeks have been a true emotional roller coaster with drastic ups and downs. I am happy to say things are on the up, but there are a few changes in the air.

I have recently been promoted at the university I work for and will have a more traditional hourly type job, so I will likely move the postings to the weekends when I will have time to take photos, go on trips, and put together posts. This is a positive move in my professional career as well as a huge leap forward for my life long goals.

This last weekend, Sacramento PRIDE was scheduled which is the California Capitol PRIDE. I did not attend for various reasons, and mainly because the weather that day was dreadful. It seems that summer has not arrived in Northern California. We are barely hitting 80 degrees F and have had a few inches of rain in the month of June, which is usually unheard of. Though, I do appreciate the cooler weather over the normal 100 + degree F weather we normally have.

The last bit, is athletically, things are shaping up nicely. I have a new trainer, swimming and diving are both going well and I have no complaints for either, aside from the usual soreness. I did have a friend come to diving with me and he took a few photos that I thought I would share with everyone showcasing a glimpse of my normal diving practice. I hope to have him come along more and snap more and more photos for each time :)

So overall, a busy summer, but it does beat sitting about. Can't complain for that :)

Many changes to come and apologies on the delayed posts. Things will sync up in the coming week or so and I will be back on a normal posting schedule!

An Amazing Weekend, Again!

On Sunday, May 22nd, 2011. I attended the Northern California Makers Faire or the Make Faire for short. This event hosts thousands of people from around the area local and far to show off all the cool things they have personally made or invented. Think of it as a huge faire where everyone gets to show off their creative side.

Running around the faire in my usual Utilikilt was amazing and hanging with the guys from Utilikilts was just as cool. Oh and I did run into a guy in a red spandex zentai. Ha! You stole my idea but my hat tips to you for that!

And I also found something I really really want! A truly Wooden Bicycle! Something that makes the mind hurt to think about, but makes the eyes beg for more. The contraption is absolutely beautiful and I would love to have one! I will give all the free advertising they would want!

First Summer San Francisco Trip - Bay to Breakers!

Last weekend marked the 100th anniversary of the historic San Francisco Bay to Breakers 12K Footrace. There were hundreds of thousands of participants registered and several more thousand who came to support and party! This year, the weather was iffy to say the least. Most of the weekend was cold, wet, and windy and not really the best time to be outside, but that didn't stop everyone from showing up!

I wanted to delay this post by a few days to allow some of the links and pictures to populate up on the internet so that you can easily browse and find more photos of the event online, as I did not have my camera with me at all times due to the weather. I have learned in the past that expensive electronics and water do not mix. Nevertheless, I did manage to capture a couple of pictures from the trip.

For the B2B Run, I did not go in my standard Speedo, I decided to change things up a bit and instead wander the streets of San Francisco in nothing more than my Utilikilt, boots, and new chainmaille vest! In the past, I have seen many people running around in Speedos, tights, wrestling singlets, and other things, sometimes nothing at all, and I decided to mix things up for this year, and it was COLD! haha. But the adventure was not just B2B, it was also a visit to the Castro, where I met up with old friends and had a few drinks. And my San Francisco trip is never complete without a trip to Leather Alley! Which included stops into Leather Etc. and Mr. S Leather.

All in all a great trip and I am looking forward to better weather and more fun time at PRIDE! And yes, don't worry, I will be in something tight and made of spandex then, haha.

Headed to San Francisco in the Morning!

Hey Everyone!

I have the speedos packed

And the KILT packed and I am headed West in the Morning!

This weekend is the 100th Anniversary Zazzle "Bay to Breakers" footrace in San Francisco, California. The race starts near the Financial District and goes through downtown San Francisco, through Beautiful Golden Gate Park, and finally ends near North Beach on the Pacific Ocean! It is a 12k footrace, so there is some distance, but well worth the walk, run, or shimmy as some do.

Another exciting bit of the trip is I will be traveling, the normal 2+ hour drive by train! I have not been on a train in ages! And I am very excited to finally get to ride one! Amtrak USA has a great deal for students for the summer, and I am happy to take advantage and do some traveling. FYI, here is what Amrtak looks like:

I am making my usual stops in at a few of my favorite stores in SFO and perhaps picking up a few new suits :) and other fun items. If you will be in SFO and fancy a meet up or want to say hello, send me an email and we can coordinate. It will be a busy, but very fun weekend and I can't wait!

I Haven't Forgotten!

Hello Everyone,

The last few weeks have been hectic with both emotional and academic challenges all over. I am happy to say that I AM FINALLY ON SUMMER BREAK!!! And I have plenty planned for the months to come. Here is a brief list of events I am planning to attend in the coming months:

Ok, to kick off the summer, I made a new suit for myself! A company called Splish allows you to create your own unique suit designs. So if you are tired of the same old patterns everyone has, look to Splish for a new suit!

An Eventful Weekend at San Gregorio State Beach!

It is a double posting night! Because I have had a three day weekend and every day something new has happened!

On Saturday, my house-mates and I made a spur of the moment decision to drive 2 hours to San Gregorio State Beach, just South of Half Moon Bay, California. San Gregorio is well known for its beautiful sights, relatively easy to access location, and best of all, it is a NUDE beach! I have been to nude beaches in California before, and I had been to San Gregorio, but not the nude part before. Also, the beach is known for being one of the few truly Gay Friendly beaches in the world! So I was in for a treat.

Here is an excerpt from a travel guide, about San Gregorio:

"San Gregorio Beach, the country's oldest nude beach (since 1967) is a large, popular beach with sand, caves and more. It's open every day, but hours are longer on weekends."

The weather forecast for the area said Partly Cloudy and warm, well, when we arrived, it was pretty grey, and a little chilly, but nonetheless, we made the best of it! After walking some distance, we finally crossed the dividing line into the private, and nudity allowed part. It was almost like a sigh of relief. Like a legal weight had been lifted from my chest.

Anyway, we arrived at the northern part of the beach and settled into one of the many "condos" (Small driftwood structures assembled along the cliff walls). I quickly stripped down and slipped into my wet suit to brave the 51 degree Fahrenheit water of the Pacific Ocean on a quest for sand dollars.

Of course, this was fun until the cold water finally got the best of me and I was tired of the constraints of the tight wet suit. So off it came and out showed the Speedo I had on underneath :) I know it is a nude beach, but I love being in a Speedo as much as I possibly can. So it was fun, even though the sun never really showed.

Oh, and I must introduce someone who you will be seeing more and more of in the coming months. He is a great friend and becoming more every time we meet up. I graciously lent him one of my red O'Neil swim briefs for him to run about in, and they do fit him quite well ;)

Okay, back to the day at the beach. Aside from the normal shenanigans and some cave exploring, here is the rest of the day in photos:

New Cycling / Downhill Mountain Bike Uniform!

Hello everyone,

I mentioned earlier this week about receiving my new downhill uniform for this summer. Well it did arrive, finally, and I am happy to have already tested it out! The new outfit is a two piece (Bib Shorts lower and Short Sleeve Jersey top). The suit itself is made by Rock Racing, now out of business sadly, but they made a truly epic product! The suit I have is a limited, one of a king product run for sponsor Gatorade, and apparently was never accepted, don't know why, but the suit fits perfectly, feels great, and will definitely see many miles on the bike this summer!

Cruising on the California Delta!

Hello Everyone!

Last weekend, I acquired a canoe from a local ad, and I though the best thing to do would be take it out on its maiden voyage on the California Delta with a friend. And at the same time, why not make a photo shoot out of it! The greatest thing about canoes is they are propelled by human power, which is silent, and gives you a great workout! We ended up travelling about 10 miles in total around the various rivers and connecting canals of the Northern California Delta water ways.

Anyway, we eventually made it out to a nice secluded spot where I thought it would be great for a photo shoot, and here is the result:

No Joke! Its a Mega Post!

Hello Everyone!

Happy April Fools day for all those out there who love pranking one another.

Anyway, I will keep the words simple on this post and let the pictures speak for themselves. I got the opportunity yesterday to go out and explore the Central Valley Delta region. Amongst all the cities and farms, there is actually still areas left untouched by man, and completely natural. Also, here in California, the weather is finally begin to feel more springlike with temperatures reaching 85 degrees F today! Perfect weather for speedos, singlets, and everything else!

Been a While!

Hey all, my apologies for my lack of posting over the past few weeks. Things around here have been hectic to say the least. School became more demanding, I had a bad allergic reaction to Allergy medications, and on and on. But I am happy to say I am working my way back into the normal routine and back to posting!

As some of you may know, the Western United States, particularly California, has been getting slammed by winter storm after winter storm. Which usually means lots of rain in the valleys, and tons of snow in the mountains / higher elevations. On Sunday, March 20th, in a way to let Winter go out with a bang, I drove up with a good friend to the mountains to do a little exploring.

The original plan was to start off headed up one of the highways to find the snow, and a good location for a photo shoot (more on this later). Well, it also turned out that the weather had already beaten us and was bringing the snow down to very low levels, and not just a dusting, but a lot of snow! We drove up the highway a little ways, drove around some more until we found the perfect spot. Well, sorta, as the fresh snow was quite hard to move around in and presented some interesting problems. Nevertheless, I pioneered through with my friend and succeeded in doing the photo shoot as planned ;)

To start off, I decided to do a little posing in one of my newest suits. The story behind this suit is I bought it out of a bet with a friend and out of a few of your requests. The suit is a Pink, Speedo Endurance "Star Power" like Ryan Lochte wore to Nationals last year. Well, I won the bet, have a new suit, and I think it looks great ;) You be the judge:

Now, I already know the questions I am going to get asked so here is my attempt to answer them before hand ;) The temperature outside in this picture was around 28F with a small wind. It was actively snowing at about 2 inches per hour and was a very thick, wet snow. But I can say this, it was DAMN COLD and a whole lot of FUN! You know I couldn't stop there...

You may have also gathered I am fond of Kilts and love wearing them out and about in the traditional method. That is, nothing underneath ;) So in true Utilikiltarian spirit, here I am wearing both my black and camo Utilikilts in about 3-4 feet of fresh powder:

You can now have a little better idea just how much snow there was and just how cold I was getting by the color of my skin ;) The last photos I did in the snow were in a singlet sent to me by a reader of this blog and he has been asking me to wear the singlet in a few photos for a while now. To finish off the day, I wanted to stop by one of my favorite places in California to see the natural limestone and marble bridges. I have been there several times in the summer, but never in the winter, I thought a visit was in order. Only one small problem...

A little more water then I remembered ;) Apparently, the 'creek' that runs through the natural bridges was above flood stage that day and not really a creek, but really a torrent of rapidly moving water. No, I DID NOT GO INTO THE WATER, NOR DO I RECOMMEND GOING INTO THE WATER WHEN THE 'CREEK' IS THIS HIGH! IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND YOU WILL DIE!

But I did still manage to get a few photos near the 'creek' with the bridges in the background. I do plan a revisit when the rains cease and the creek is back to normal levels! Here are a few images from nearby:

From Bodysuits to Thongs?

The Summer Olympics in London are less than 2 years away and already there are a number of circulating thoughts about what th swimmers will wear for their competition uniform. Most say they will stick with their technical Jammers, and others say the traditional Speedo brief is what they will wear; but about a year ago, there was another idea... Thongs.

Yes, some swimmers said they may consider thongs for their suit of choice. Sadly, the ruling by the Olympic Commission was No Things shall be worn, it was definitely an idea and is still being fought today. You may be wondering why a thong? The concept is pretty easy to understand, less is more. In swimming, the more suit you have on, the more water it will absorb and the heavier the swimmer will be. Thus, they will sink lower and lower into the water and thus be slower due to an increased drag. (I could do the math and show you what I mean mathematically, but it would likely bore you ;)

Remember back to the last Olympics, and before, the bodysuits, so you immediately also think, so how is less more if athletes used to wear full suits? Well, again, the principles are simple, make the suit non-absorbent, and tada, you have a faster swimmer.

Okay, you now are wondering if I have checked the facts and perhaps done a few swims in a thong vs. a brief and calculated the difference. I have ;) After weeks of negotiations, and a little help from a friend of mine, I gained access to the University pool in the off hours. The understanding was, a quick couple of laps, collect data and be done. So no real video and I am still working to get the photos from a friend. Though we also did it at night, so they probably won't be the best, so you will have to bear with my numerical data. For reference, here is the thong I used:

Speedo Standard Black Thong, size Small

And the suit I put it up against, was my university issued racing suit. A TYR Durafast Racer, size 24, worn under the thong here for comparison:

So that was the setup. Each time, my hair was in the same cap, same goggles, and same direction across the pool.

The first lap across the pool was in the University issued suit, the TYR. And the time for the 50 meter swim off the blocks was 00:23:47 and the second time (for consistency) was 00:23:52. So pretty close, not exact, but pretty close. The next swim was with the thong, and the time, off the blocks (for 50 meters) was: 00:23:41 and the second time through: 00:23:58.

So a side by side comparison:

SUIT: BRIEF ---------- THONG
T1 23:47 ---------- 23:41
T2 23:52 ---------- 23:58

Each time I took 2 minutes of rest and did not leave the pool. So there is no chance of cooling off or loosing energy. Also, the pool temperature was 78 degrees F and calm winds.

In short, which is better? Statistically, is shows that a thong is very mildly faster than a brief, about 00:00:02 to be exact. So what does it mean? If you are a competitive swimmer, and your times are consistently fast, and you are matched with someone who is the same speed as you, a thong could possibly give you the edge. Again, possibly...

After the swims, I will note that I had greater freedom of movement in the thong over the briefs, and the kicks were easier. On the flip side, I found the brief gave better support up front than the thong did. So each one has their pros and cons. I would say that I would like to do more research, and more swims to be consistent and fair. Also, I believe thongs are a little better for swimming than briefs, and hell, they would be hotter also ;)

So there you have it, finally got access, and it was fun to be in a thong in the University pool for science! Before you run out and try the thong in your own public pools, be sure to check with the rules, as thongs are usually not an acceptable form of swim wear.

Swimsuits 101

Greetings followers and readers!

Today, I want to do something a little different than a normal post, as I have had a lot of questions about what styles of suits to wear to the beach or pool. How do you wear your suit like? And what are the do's and don'ts for wearing swim wear this summer.

Okay, so lets start off with the simple Don'ts of swimsuits.

1. Don't wear a suit that is far too tight for you if you are not at a competitive swimming event. You don't need the hydrodynamics, and it really works against you. Here are a few examples:

As you can see in the photos, the suit is way too small for everyday use. The suit I have on in the photos above is an Adidas suit, size 22" waist! I have a 28" waist. What a smaller suit really does is compact everything in very tightly, and flattens everything out. Another caveat is the "Muffin Top." I have a low body fat percentage, but the incredibly small suit basically pinches everything in, causing the skin above to bulge over the suit. Not very attractive, and not necessary, Unless you are competing and will benefit from the tightness and increased hydrodynamics. Don't do it unless you have to ;)

2. If a suit is very old, very worn out, too big, baggy, and overall just gone, don't wear it! (though they can be used for other things) Here is a good example:

This WAS a great suit! When it was newer and fit properly. The real issue here is it just looks tacky. What it says to most people is you don't care about your appearance, have poor taste, and many other negative things. Like everyone says, there is a time and a place. If you are into the old swim wear, great, but don't reveal it out on the pool deck or the beach. Get a new suit and enjoy it ;) Besides, there is nothing like the feeling of a new suit anyway.

3. What I like to call the "Superhero Syndrome." Basically, don't layer suits unless you are doing so for competitive training. Here is a couple examples:

You may be wondering why someone would wear two suits at once anyway. Well, there are a few reasons, but the main ones are for increased drag for training, and the second being for water polo. Wearing two suits is appropriate in some cases, but not really appropriate outside of the competitive swimming world. Wearing two suits works against you anyway, as it hides what you want to really show, and is just bulky. It also makes you look like a superhero, not a bad thing, but yeah, you get the idea ;)

4. Don't wear a technical suit unless you really need to! For one, they are very expensive and usually are designed to crush everything in very tight. Again, if you are a competitive swimmer, you know what I mean. They can be sexy at swim meets and other competitive venues, but they aren't really right for the beach ;)

The next question I am always asked is how do I like to wear my Speedo style swim suits? Well, a couple of different ways, but here is a rundown of the three main ways most guys wear them:

1. The competitive, low on the waist, and tight look. Mainly in competitive swimming events and water polo. You will usually see guys wearing a size too small and usually they don't tie their suits, or have removed the drawstrings all together. This is my favorite way to wear my suits, and probably the hottest I see on guys at the pool.

2. The classic or often called old school style. Usually among the older crowd, but some younger guys are catching onto it. This is where the suit is pulled up tight to sit on the upper hips, rather than at waist level. Back in the late 70's, and early 80's, this style was very popular and called the "Brazilian" way to wear your suit. It can work on some guys, but not all. I don't prefer this method all too much, but it can still be very sexy on some guys ;)

3. The low hanger / daring style. You will almost certainly see this among the high school / college swimmers at the pool. Similar to the first way of wearing the suit, this is where the wearer pulls the waist down just a bit more to reveal a little more. You get the best tan lines this way and it can be pretty sexy. The only problem is you will need to shave down there otherwise you will be branching out ;)

Another neat thing about the last way is it usually shows a little crack in the back ;) Can be pretty sexy on the right guy.

The last few questions I always get about suits is what styles are in, and what really looks hot just about anywhere. Well, I have a few ideas, but I know there are many more out there. Here are a few pictures and suggestions to help you along ;)

Contrary to popular thought, square cut suits are in this summer. We have all seen them, at the beach, at swim practice, or just out and about. They are beginning to come in a variety of colors and cool patterns, and really can be very hot on a guy. If you are curious about wearing a Speedo, and are a board shorts wearer, this is a good step in between. Below is a traditional drag suit (red, white, and blue one) and a very nice Speedo dive suit (black one).

Another style that is beginning to take hold amongst the younger wearers is the water polo suits. They are beginning to come out in a variety of colors and patterns, and the greatest part is they are durable! I highly recommend them as a daily lap suit or for those trips to the beach. I actually wear them for surfing either under my wet suit or by themselves. A few of the better manufacturers out there are Turbo, Agon Swim, and Ducko. Below is a Turbo suit:

Designer suits are starting to get better, in my opinion. I remember the first N2N suit I bought, I was unhappy with it because it just didn't fit right. But a lot has changed and the designer suits are beginning to improve again. A few of my favorites for good everyday suits are Calvin Klein, Pistol Pete, and Andrew Christian. I have to say my favorite designer still would be Andrew Christian, but I am beginning to accept more ;) Below are a Pistol Pete suit, Calvin Klein suit, and a white William.s from Australia. And of course, my favorite Andrew Christian suit ;)

Thongs... This is really an interesting topic and I get asked about thongs once in a while. First and foremost, I have nothing against thongs, they feel great, fit great, and are sexy on the right guy. But it is just that, the right guy. I think I look okay in a thong, but not stellar. Generally, when I think of a guy in a thong, I think of muscled, worked out, and really buff, not swimmers build like mine. The thong I have that works the best is a Speedo thong. I actually do like it, but I don't wear it out in public too much. Also, with me, it really goes against my tan lines ;) But you be the judge:

Finally, I always get asked about Aussiebums! Here is the straight truth about Aussiebums... They fit great, are nylon, and you will definitely turn heads while wearing them. They fit like no other suit and always feel like they are about to fall off! You have to tie them on, the feel is great, and I love the colors / patterns they come in. But the big thing, why don't we see more of them? They are very revealing ;) Not necessarily a problem, but you have to be quite confident to wear one ;) The slogan for Aussiebum is: "If you doubt yourself, wear something else!"

Here is one of my favorites I wear to the beach all the time. I am very comfortable in them and love them to death. Wouldn't trade them for anything else when I am surfing or just lounging ;)

Oh, and did I mention, they look great wet also!

So there you have it. When you are out shopping for your Summer 2011 swim wear or just curious about what is out there, hopefully this little guide helps. Remember that it is just that, a guide. Wear what you feel most comfortable with and have fun! Don't give a care about what other people thing, take pride in yourself, ditch the board shorts, and get yourself some hot swimsuits for summer!

Something New!

Hello Everyone!

My apologies for the lack of postings this week. I am in the middle (hard to believe) of the semester and Midterms have struck. I am happy to announce, that next Monday they are over! This week I have been bogged down with homework, studying, and of course researching for my Master's Thesis.

Though, in my random perusing of the internet, I ran across something I want to explore more when I have the time. Comic style drawings of guys in Speedos and similar. I have to say that some of the cartoon images look a bit cheesy, but some are pretty hot, and I definitely want to look into creating a few of my own ;) Anyway, here are a few that I found, and I am looking for more! And perhaps, someday I will create a few of my own!

So there is a little something to keep you entertained until next week ;) I am planning to make a few videos and of course a few pictures.

Back from a Swim...

Just back in from a late evening swim. Always fun swimming through the fog coming off the surface of the pool. And it is always annoying to have to pull the pool tarps, but well worth the workout.

I did about 6,700 yards this evening and it felt great. (averaging about 4,500 yards per hour) And I decided to wear one of the new Australia suits I got ;) When I got home, I also felt like sharing a few photos:

New Posting, Finally!

Hello Fellow Spandex and Speedo Enthusiasts!

I am happy to announce that I am moving on and feeling better each day. I am back in my normal routine and back to posting! To kick things off, and because I am happy to finally own one, my new Utilikilt came today! Below is a photo of me in it, and I have to say, it will be worn to school tomorrow. And I am sure I will get the question: "Do you really have nothing on under it?" Which I will happily reply: "Perhaps, what do you think?" Ok, here is a photo:

Sorry about my eyes being closed, apparently I am allergic to flash photography : p Anyhow, I love the pattern and the fit is great. If you have not worn a Utilikilt before, you should go get one!

Ok, onto the next segment of this post, a viewer's special if you will. As you can see, there are a number of new polls to the right. Well, each week, or each time I make a post, I will try to wrap the post around the leading results! Basically, I am trying to give you, the follower / reader what you want to see.

This post, the leading colors of swim wear, in a shocking tie, are Red and White. Well, I do not have many suits in either color, but I do have a few. So without further delay, here are a few photos (mind the naughtiness) I though it would add to the post ;)

Kindof felt a little frisky in the red suit, so I hope you don't mind.

Ok, so there was the color results, now onto the next poll. You wanted to see more of me in Speedos, and at the same time, I realized I still had not finished posting all the new suits I brought back from Australia. So here is another great suit, and I really love the design on this one!

Always a great time when I am in this suit. The fit is wonderful, the pattern is exceptional, and when I wore this to the beaches in Australia, definitely had a few head turns! Highly recommended suit!

This next segment is not from a poll, but rather to cheer up a friend of mine who is recovering from Hip surgery this week. Before he went in, he was sure to send in a new suit for me to pose in. I decided to go ahead and post all the photos I took and share the enjoyment with everyone.

I do wish him all my best and to a speedy recovery! Also, the suit fits great and is quite revealing! The size on this one is an XXS and is made by an independent company in the USA. I will post a link sometime if more people are interested. As they make some great suits and other things!

Last poll was an interesting one. and kindof a hard thing to really post as I always said I would not fully 'reveal' myself. So, here is a mix of both, sexy, but not too revealing. And I am looking at exploring this type of shoot more, as it is fun to be sexy and still leave something to the imagination.

You Have to be Ready for Anything...

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to make a brief post to let you all know what went down last week and how I am moving forward. As some of you may know by now, I went through a rather odd and unexpected breakup last week. It was the type that you cannot see coming, nor is there a real reason for it, it just happens. The frustrating part is just the timing and how the breakup was initiated. It was a try and pass the blame to me, though it turns out I was not the one at fault... Really, in the conversation, I found out that there were other things going on behind my back that were unacceptable and unjust in a relationship.

Nevertheless, I am moving on and actually doing better now. Just took a little bit of time to reflect on my life and figure out where to go next. Don't worry, I am not canceling the blog, or doing anything drastic, just needed a little time. I should be back to posting either late this week or early next week. But to keep everyone appeased for the time being, I went through my image folders and pulled up a few great shots to keep everyone happy.

Had these photos taken a while back, hope you enjoy them ;) And ill make a new post next week!

Photo Tips! Editing and Finishing your Photos!

Hey all!

After reading the latest post on Shannons Blog about how to take good photos, I thought I would follow with a similar, tips and tricks style post on how to edit and finish your photos.

To start off, a little tech talk about what programs to use and what I prefer (don't worry, there will be photos in the post).

The good news is, in these days, there are a plethora of image editing programs out there from FREE to thousands of dollars. And the even better news is you don't have to spend hundreds to get great photos! There are mainly two programs I use for image editing and finishing. Now, I know I mention that I don't edit my photos. Well, truth of the matter is I do, but it is to enhance the subject of the photo and for privacy reasons. Now, back to software! I prefer either Gimp (FREE) or Adobe Photoshop (PAY) for my image editing. Both programs are virtually the same, just have a few program specific changes (Like menu options). To tell you the truth, both are easy to use, well laid out, and produce excellent results. So it is really up to you whether you want to pay for something or get it for FREE!

First Topic: Pick a subject and Focus for your photo...
Sounds simple and in most cases it is. If you are photographing yourself in a swimsuit, then you are the subject. If you want to capture the environment around you, then it is the subject. It is important to determine which you want to feature in the photo. It can be both, but almost all photos have a clearly defined subject (usually the object / person you are focusing on). Here is an example photo where I am the subject, and the background is accessory to the photo. It enhances the meaning and focus of the photo.

You will notice that the image is cropped so I am in the center, and the foreground and background are slightly out of focus. In this photo, the background helps anchor where the image was taken.

Second Topic: Image Cropping...
Best rule of thumb, too much can be too much. Take this photo for example.

The image is over cropped, really. If this were a proper photo where more detail was needed, there would be more background and foreground detail. You would also want to place the subject either in a central location or in a conspicuous, but anchored space.

A better example of good cropping would be in this photo:

The subject(s) are in the photo and there is sufficient background and foreground to know where the photo was taken and what was going on. Also, there is a good balance of color and tone (more on that later).

Topic Three: Image Adjustments...
It is only normal for even the best photographers with the best cameras to need to perform adjustments on their photos. Because the world is dynamic, and the light within that world is dynamic, we must average the amounts to accommodate these differences. Whether it be on top of a mountain, or under the sea, there will always be room for some adjustment.

The main idea behind adjustment is to balance three things: the brightness, color tone (temperature), and contrast. Other adjustments aren't necessary unless you are seeking a printer for your images. Brightness is a key adjustment as you usually want to see what is in the image! Usually, as a rule of thumb, small changes make huge differences. Be vigilant with the sliders and don't over do it! This is an example of an over bright photo:

The skin tone is way off, and the photo lacks the detail on the skin. Also, the brighter colors in the photo tend to blend together. This photo would need to have the brightness turned down.

Color tone also known as temperature is an adjustment to the type of lighting the photo was taken in. Usually, the best solution to this is to leave the photo as shot unless there is a very noticeable issue with the colors in the photo. For example, if you are shooting under florescent lamps, you would want to adjust for that. Most of the time in well lit areas, you should not need adjustments. The idea here is to get the photo to look as realistic as possible. There are also some neat effects you can do to the photo as well.

Lastly is contrast. Contrast adjustments work in a few ways. They work to clear up the picture and sharpen the distinctions between light and dark colors. Think of it as the same you would adjust the contrast on your television set. It works almost the same for photos. But, you can also use the contrast adjustment to sharpen the photo. A tip here is to adjust (IN SMALL AMOUNTS!) with the sliders or numerically. You want a true to life photo here.

An example of a well balanced and corrected / adjusted photo would be like this:

A few Final tips are bulletined below:

Don't over adjust your photos unless you are going for that look. It really does just look fake, and works against the photo as a whole. If you mean to make the photo look this way, then it would be an okay use.
Don't try to have too many subjects, narrow it down as you are shooting.
Remember that nothing in nature is perfect, so don't try to make your photos look perfect! Believe me, being slightly off speaks volumes more about the photo than if it were perfect.
Have fun adjusting. Remember that every photo tells a story and shares memories. Make them fun and entertaining, and don't try to be too bland. Play with the different options and filters available!

Weekly Posting for December 30th, 2010 2010 in Review

Hello Readers, Followers, and Friends!

I want to start off by thanking all of you who have made my 2010 a special year and a very productive and successful year! As you know, and have followed over the past 364 days, a lot has happened both to me and around the world. Looking back to the very beginning of this year, I remember saying to myself: "I can't wait to be over 21 years old, and another year over with in college..." Looking back, the year really went by fast!

Way back in January 2010, you may recall this photo:

And how the Green Nike Teraz got its debut. And how I met my dear friend Bruce who was my wonderful photographer at that time.

Bouncing ahead to the summer of 2010, you will recall the first few videos of mine from Alternadudes, and the epic shots on the California Beaches of Southern California! And then fast forward to November of 2010, where I finally left the age of 21 and became 22 years old.

For this post, I wanted to pick the most memorable occasion of 2010 to showcase. And to be honest I couldn't pick only one thing ;) But I finally decided on one of the biggest things that I got to do in 2010, and that was traveling thousands of miles to the land down under. So here are a few of the more interesting suits from that trip!

While I was in Sydney, NSW. I came across a shop on Flinders Street in the middle of the "LGBT District" of Sydney. As you know, I like to support entrepreneurs and designers who start their own lines. And I decided to enter the shop of the designer of "Suck Oz" swimwear. For the longest time, I was looking for a white Speedo style suit, unlined, and white with the words "AUSTRALIA" on the bum. Well, I was in luck, as Mr. Oz (as I will call him) had just the answer!

I was ecstatic to find such a suit exists! And then I decided to up the ante and see if he carried the same suit, a little more wider cut and with the word: "SYDNEY." And of course he did :)

So I can finally check a few things off my life's dreams list. As the trip to Australia was one of the best experiences so far, and finding the suits was amazing! And that is just one of the bits of the story!

The second part takes us back to BANG Swimwear in Sydney where I found the second suit I have been after for ages. And XTG (Extreme Gear) suit in tribal red. Well, they had it!

By now you probably think I am rambling about, but I promise there is order to this post! And as I mentioned earlier, I couldn't pick just one thing to highlight.

The second part of this post involves a question I get asked over and over again in comments, emails, and even letters! And that is, can you show us the blue woman's cut swimsuit wet. After some careful thought, I figured, sure, why not, as suits wet often look hotter than they do dry. So here is the answer to those requests!

And as a bonus, because I was already setup for the photos and wet, here is a bonus for Mr. Oz and others. The white Australia Suck Oz suit wet ;)

That should appease most of you who have been asking for the wet look! As I do intend to do more once the weather warms up.

The final part of this post, and probably my last for 2010 is a favorite photo of mine of a hot athlete. In this case, I actually go to school with this person, and play Water Polo from time to time with this person. Each night, I check a series of blogs with both Speedo or other spandex pictures to see what is out there. And I have run across this photo time and time again. (By the way, as a secret, he is aware that the photo is posted online all over the place, no he is not gay / bi, and actually has a girl friend. He does admit he likes the attention he gets) So here is my pic of hottest sports photo of 2010:

He usually plays Attacker and works out far more than most people I know. Is a very sweet and caring guy and really just a cool person to know. For a while, he was my personal trainer, before he had to tend back to other things, and I appreciate all that he has done for me. Also, as a random trivia bit, he does go to California Bodybuilding competitions and has won a few (there is a little more Google research for those of you wanting more pictures)

Swimwear from Australia - POST 1

Happy Holidays to all my readers and welcome back to the blog!

As the holidays approach, you may be wondering what to get for your significant other, or yourself, for the holidays. The typical gifts are jewelry, perhaps clothing, and of course, the dreaded fruit cake, but how about a swimsuit? For those of you who are in the Southern Hemisphere, you get to enjoy a warm holiday season, while those of us up here in the Northern Hemisphere freeze ;)

During my trip to Australia, I visited a few of the local swimwear and surf shops around Sydney (and Adelaide). Of course, I was browsing, but also had the strong intent to buy swimwear. And I am happy to report that most swim / surf shops carry Speedo style suits. Of course, this is enlightening to see, as in the USA, you have to visit either a specialty shop, or order your suits online.

For this post, I would like to feature Bang Clothing of Sydney (they have a store in Melbourne also).

Those of you in Sydney probably know where it is, but for those of you wishing to visit or perhaps are looking for the store, here is their site:

Now, there are not just a swimwear retailer, but they also have fitness wear, club wear, and all the underwear you can imagine ;) Of course, I visited the Sydney store (roughly the corner of Flinders and Oxford) and had a nice browse. The staff are very friendly and want to make sure you get a good fit and look for your money. I bought a few suits from Bang, but this was the first:

Apologies for the quality / focus, had to use the cell phone to take the photos as the camera is under repair (sand). But the suit pictured is Pistol Pete suit, size Small. The text on the back says: "Born to Live" and I think is appropriate. I am noticing a trend to more of the older industrial designs or very vivid rock / alternative times. And I am loving it! I do have another suit, but that will wait until a later posting ;)

So if you get the chance, stop into Bang of Sydney (or Melbourne) and pick up a suit or two. You will have a blast!

Ok, the next adventure, suit story is a more cliche and almost required suit. It is also a suit I have been after for some time now. On my visit to Bondi Beach, I had to stop into the local surf shop and have a look. I was tempted by the long boards (would have bought one if I didn't have to fly it home) and through the board shorts, and no luck... Then, it hit me. Look in the Aisle with the wetsuits and rash guards! And Eureka! There they were.

They had quite the assortment, but were barely getting their summer stock in, but I managed to find a perfect fitting suit. Made by 'Triple X' the Bondi signature suit is a must have for those who make a journey out to the beach.

I love the color, adore the fit, and finally have a Bondi suit! Now, before you jump on email and send me questions about the fit. Think Aussiebum. The suits are made to fit snugly around the waist (drawstring) and loose everywhere else. Think freedom of movement and a very leisure / comfortable fit!

So there are two of the 10 or so suits from my trip. I will be making a few more posts so stay tuned to see more of what I imported into the United States ;)

More on Australia and Some Changes Ahead!

Since my posting last week, I have received a few questions that people wanted me to answer. Some were just funny and expected, and others were quite serious. So here is a little Q and A session!

Q: Did you enjoy the trip to Australia and would you return in the future?
A: Yes! Too much! The country of Australia is beautiful, the people are great, and the beaches are world class! And I am looking into Graduate School (PhD work) in either South Australia or New South Wales after 2012.

Q: What was the conference about?
A: The conference was an international conference on Artificial Reality and Telexistence. It was in South Australia and the purpose for the trip.

Q: On the beaches, did you see many guys in Speedos or similar?
A: To be honest, it was dependent on which beach and the age group, and in some cases the person. For example, on Manly Beach in North Sydney, I noticed a few of the 30 and unders in Speedos or similar, and the rest in Boardshorts. And on Bondi, I noticed more people in Speedos, the age group varied widely. So it really depended on location and the people there.

Q: How was Speedos Cafe? Did you wear a Speed there?
A: Loved it! Food was great, a little pricy, but worth it. One of the better Fish and Chips lunches I have had in ages. Unfortunately, no, I did not wear just a Speedo there (It was on under my shorts though).

Q: Why the USA Flag suit? Really...
A: Couldn't resist, and that is my travel suit!

Q: How many new Speedos did you get?
A: Ha! I bought 10 new suits while in Australia. The rules were they had to be uniquely Australian and I would not be able to get them in the United States. In other words, a suit from a brand unavailable in the USA, or online. And, on a note, stay posted! I plan to give away a suit in a contest coming up!

Q: Favorite place you visited in Australia.
A: This is a tough one, but I would have to say that I loved being in Adelaide, South Australia. I am not a big city person, so the smaller town feel of Adelaide and South Australia was great. Don't get me wrong, Sydney had its bonuses, but I loved Adelaide. (And Henley Beach)

Q: Where would you like to go on your next trip to Australia?
A: I would love to visit Melbourne, Cairnes, and Ayers Rock. Perhaps make an around Australia trip! I would also like to visit New Zealand on the next trip.

Q: Why so few pictures of the guys in Speedos on the Beaches and around?
A: Well, I try to be fair and respect people's privacy and rights and only took photos of those who approved or would not be to focus of the image. Basically being polite ;)

Q: Best memory in Australia.
A: LANDING IN SYDNEY AFTER A 14 1/2 HOUR FLIGHT! It was a huge relief to have made it, safely. And did I mention the flight was long?

I mentioned a few changes coming. Back from Australia!

Hey all!

I am pleased to be back in the United States, but I already miss Australia! Not necessarily because it is warmer there right now, or because the beaches are closer, but because it was truly an awesome trip and I wish I had an extra week, month, or year! But such is life, and I am back. The journey there and back wasn't too bad, and the long flights went by pretty quickly once I occupied myself with something.

In short, the journey played out like this: Left San Francisco, USA at 10:30pm on November 28th, and arrived in Sydney around 9am local time on November 30th. Took a connecting flight to Adelaide, South Australia, arrived the same day around noon. Then attended the conference, and departed Adelaide on December 3rd and arrived in Sydney around 7pm that same evening. Went to Olympic Park on Day One, Went to Manly on Day Two, and Day Three was spent at Bondi Beach!

So, a very busy 8 or so days.

I would like to start off by saying that Adelaide, South Australia is a really beautiful place to visit. At first, I was a little reluctant and was craving the big city feel of Sydney, but after the first evening in Adelaide, I was in love with the old west feel and pure hospitality. But I do Digress ;) The main reason we were there, and yes, we. (My research partner and I) was to present our findings at a major international conference. We did very well, and I may be looking forward to doing my PhD work in Adelaide. We shall see ;) Now, I know most of you have been asking about videos and photos. Well, here are a small group from Henley Beach, South Australia.

The beach was beautiful, with white sands and temperatures that were quite warm, but comfortable. And yes, I did wear the same stupid USA flag suit, but I couldn't resist ;). Oh, and the water, despite Antarctica being so close, was very warm!

Ok, so we finished up in Adelaide and it was time to run off to Sydney!

In Sydney, I had a few goals, get to the Sydney Aquatic Center, Swim with the team (and dive). Head over to Speedos Cafe, and hit up Bondi Beach! And I did it all! I am still running through the pictures, but here are a few from around Sydney.

I was pleased to see a few Speedo clad guys, but there weren't as many as I had hoped. But I had a lot of fun, and received a great tan. (actually a sunburn) but well worth it nonetheless.

Made it to Australia!

Hey all,

Just a quick post to let you know I made it safely to Australia. Currently, I am in South Australia in Adelaide for the conference. I will be here til the 3rd of December and then I will be traveling to Sydney :) Can't wait, as I am loving Australia so far!

Hoping to visit the Adelaide Coastline sometime within the next day or so, and hopefully put together a small video from Australia before my return.

Weekly Posting for November 28th, 2010 Australian Bound

Ok, I know this is late at night and it falls on a Sunday here in the United States, but here is last weeks posting a little late but definitely worthwhile! In case you didn't know, I am on my way to Australia tomorrow evening and should arrive in Australia on Tuesday, late morning! I am very excited and I am ready to go! Everything is packed! Camera, clothes, speedos, you name it!

This is also my very first international trip and I am thrilled it is to Australia! I will be in and around Adelaide, South Australia from November 30th to December 3rd, then I travel to Sydney on the 3rd and I am there to the 7th! If you run into me, don't be shy, and say hello, and I am always looking for things to do and those who would like to do photos! So far, I have a trip to the top of the Harbour Bridge planned, and a trip out to Bondi Beach. I also intend to visit Oxford Street and see what all goes on down there!

I plan to take video, tons of photos, and all that, so stay tuned, and I will try to post an update while I am on the trip, though internet providing. To get in touch with me, send an email to lycraloverslimited@hotmail.com

Weekly Posting for November 17th, 2010 A Bit of Everything

Over the past few weeks a lot has changed in my life, both physically and emotionally. As I mentioned, I have begun a new workout regime to tone up a bit and gain a little more muscle, which has been working and I am happy to announce I am now at my normal body weight! I am now at 138lbs and will be continuing on to 145lbs, hopefully by the end of this year. It has been a combination of Swimming, Weight Lifting, Diving, and Gymnastics to get where I am now, but it will be fun to continue.

On the flip side of things, I have an announcement to make proudly. After searching for many months and years, I have finally found someone to settle in with. (Pictures at the end of the post ;) But it is nice to have someone to share my likes and interests with, as well as spend time together going places and just playing a game of chess. He will also be my new weekly photographer for this blog and is the one who took the pictures for this week ;)

Ok, speaking of pictures, here are a few different ideas:

First set is my new proposed outfit for Gymnasts:

The combination is an Adidas Gymnast's unitard / singlet with a Utilikilt. I love the combination and think this could definitely catch on...

The next is my standard, banned, Nike Pro Full Body Skin Suit, very tight fitting indeed, and fun to mess around in :)

The Nike Suit still fits great and is something fun to do a triathlon in or just play around in...

Lastly is a classic N2N picked out for this shoot :) I still like the fit and it is a great color.

Ok, and now the last bit of this post and an exciting part. I would like to introduce my new significant other ;) Proudly sporting the USA Wrestling 2009 "Sword and Dagger" singlet by Brute :)

I have not forgotten about this week's postings. I am swamped with a number of things at school, and personally that have been stealing 100% of my time and effort. But don't worry! Also, this weekend, on November 13th, I turn 22 years old! I cannot wait and it will be very nice to finally leave the legal age and progress forward!

Its More than Official Now! AUSTRALIA!

In case you haven't been following along, the latest is I am on my way to Australia in a few weeks! I am more than excited as I have always wanted to visit and perhaps move to Australia some day. So I have finally been given the chance! Here are some of the trip details:

I am leaving for Australia on November 28th and will be there through December 7th, 2010. I have been accepted to a conference being held in South Australia to present my research and findings to others.

I will have a little free time on the latter part of the trip (likely December 4th to the 6th) while I am in Sydney. A few of my plans are of course to visit the Harbour, go out to Bondi Beach for part of the day, and finish off the trip with a bridge walk in the evening.

If you are in Australia and fancy a visit, or would like to offer to show me about, please get in touch with me via email. Like I mentioned, I am more inclined to meet in Sydney, as that is more my time and off the conference time. I would also like to meet a few of my blogger friends and perhaps sit down and meet in person and talk about our common interests.

Okay, enough excitement for now, but I am planning to take hundreds of photos and of course get a few in a Speedo. So look forward to a super posting after the trip.

Bonus Posting for November 4th!

So you thought I would only do one post on odd items and leave out a few Speedo shots eh? Would I do that to my readers? Of course not. So here is a BONUS posting for the week!

Early in October, I began a new workout routine more geared towards toning and building a muscled build for diving. Basically more intense weights and faster repetitions, as well as more workouts during the week. As I now transition through swimming and back into diving, I have decided it was time to try a little body toning and conditioning. Don't worry, I am still swimming and have no intentions of stopping! I have just added diving in as well.

The other night, I decided, with a friend, to setup a few photos in my garage. Looking for a different, more industrial look to go with the shoot. Okay, I was not trying to be artsy, its the only really large space I have and the only place I can lift heavy things and not worry about dropping them on the wood floors of the house. So here are a few shots from after about two weeks of the new workout routine. Now, I am not looking to become a body builder, but I would like to pack on a little more muscle and build a little more strength. And why not look good in the process? ;) Okay, so here are the photos:

So, I know, no Arnold Schwarzenegger, but I am trying to get a bit more toned. And yes, those are cinder blocks, and they weigh about 20 pounds a piece. I do not have a barbell set, yet...

Weekly Posting for November 4th, 2010 Oddity

Happy November everyone!

November is a very busy month for me both academically, personally, and physically, as it seems everything comes together in November and gets completed in December. Also, November is home to my birthday which this year I will be twenty-two. Excitingly, it will be far more easy to remember two twos rather than a two and another number. Okay, enough babble there.

Last week, I had a few ideas and a suggestion / request from a reader to do a few things. The request was to show more of my 'feminine' side. Well, I put a little more of a twist on it than that. I decided, why not blow this up to the three most odd spandex / lycra things I have and photograph them. In my opinion, no matter the gender, a spandex 'suit' feels great in all ways. There are some cuts and designs that are more fitting to men and others to women. I also, in my research, ran across a photographer who has played with this idea and I would love to explore more if it in the future.

About a year ago, I was perusing Ebay, and came across the first odd item, basically a leotard with one of the shoulder straps removed. I fell in love with the eccentricity of it and went for it and won it on Ebay. So for my Odd Item Number One, here is a photo or two:

I have to be honest and admit that it is not perfectly flattering, fits a little weird, and probably won't be used for anything more than play. But I do still love the singlet / bodysuit / leotard... Whatever you call it!

The next item was inspired by something I saw in a movie, and after a little searching on the internet, I found something not in the bright green and a little more sexy than its Hollywood counterpart. Yes, I have a Borat style sling and it fits great! It is also one of the more revealing things I have ever worn, but still fun to lounge around in and have some fun in! So here is Odd Item Number Two:

Again, probably not that flattering, but a very fun item to play around in, or even sleep in! Can't really show the back as it is a thong back ;) But I'll let you use your imaginations for that image...

Okay, the last odd item I have for this week is one that is a little more strange for a male to wear, but like I mentioned earlier, a tight fitting suit is a tight fitting suit ;) This took a little more searching on the internet and finally was found on Ebay. I remember looking for it specifically and was lucky enough to come across it. The odd item is a Woman's Turbo Water Polo Suit. Why a Turbo suit? Well, I fell in love with the male suits they make and wanted a similar suit in a Woman's full cut. I did obscure the name of the college on the suit to keep from getting into any legal hot water, but here are a few photos of the suit:

It does fit very nicely, and if I am coaxed, I may do some photos wet in it next time ;) But only if I am coaxed into doing it...

Weekly Posting for October 26th, 2010 Something New

Earlier this week, a lot of things have developed. First and foremost, the Australia trip is confirmed! Those of you in Australia who would want to meet in person, let me know and I will share some of the trip details. Right now it looks as I will be in Sydney, NSW, Australia from December 3rd to December 7th, 2010. I am wanting to visit Bondi Beach and a few other important places. So look for another post as the time gets closer.

Also, I have received something I have never worn before, a track singlet! I must say it has an interesting fit and feel to it. One that I find different, but sexy in a sort of way. The back is more of a 'Y' back versus the standard tank back as on wrestling singlets. But I love it! Here are a few pictures:

And of course, you know I can't do a post without a Speedo! So here is a hot little size 26 racing suit ;)

Weekly Posting for October 15th, 2010 New Suits!

Hello Everyone!

This week in the United States, and perhaps the world, has been LGBT Celebration week! So far it has been a blast to get to know new people, learn new things, and support the LGBT community. So, for this weeks post, I decided to celebrate it with a few new suits! I received two new Turbo suits and one new Maroon Sporti suit from the Swim Outlet. It is a great suit and see the pictures if you don't believe me! Anyway, here are the photos!

Turbo 'Water Polo Boys' Suit, size Small

I love this suit! And I have gotten several compliments around the pool over the last couple of days when I wore it to diving practice. Overall a great suit, love the black and white with red print and love the feel of it! I do wish Turbo made a size Extra Small, as then the suit would be perfect for diving on me. As right now the Small is a little loose.

Ok, here is the next suit!

Felt like adding in a few props to the mix to compliment the suit. For some reason, I am obsessed with the skulls motif, I blame my Gothic heritage. But these suits from Turbo are great and I highly recommend them!

Ok, finally, the last new suit I have. I was a little Leary of this one at first from the reviews I read online. Yeah, I read reviews from others ;). But I decided to just go for it, I mean, for $9.95, it was hard not to get it. As you may know, the SwimOutlet.com changed their house brand from 'Club Swim' to 'Sporti' early this year and announced that the suits would only get better. And you know what, they did! I read a few reviews bashing the fit, I had no problem, and a few complaining about the cuts, well, simple, Euro cut is more skimpy, American cut is more coverage.

For me, I went with the Euro cut, as I like a suit with narrow sides and a good fit. So here are the photos of the suit ;)

Sword, rather Katana, courtesy of my housemate ;) Made a fun prop to play with. Anyway, a great suit, super cheap, and I see no issues. Of course, the material is a bit thinner, and probably would not hold up to long in the pool, but come on, it is so cheap that it is practically borderline disposable! There is rumor that the Sporti brand line may drop to $6.99 for the Euro cut sometime in the near future! So keep an eye out. Oh, and build your full color collection of them ;)

Weekly Posting for October 7th, 2010 Australian Preview

Hello Fellow Spandex Aficionados!

For this weeks post, I have some exciting pictures to share that go along with some exciting news. Part of my undergraduate research involved running a study and completing a lengthy thesis. As part of the University's programs, we were required to publish the thesis with at least one journal, and submit the thesis to an International Conference for review and possible admission. Well, I am pleased to announce that toady I received confirmation that my Undergraduate Thesis work will be published in not one place, but three, and I will be traveling to Australia in Early December to present my findings in person. That's right! A trip to Australia to present my findings!

Now to go along with the good news, I also received a suit from a friend a few weeks back from the Australian National Swim team (one of their practice suits!). So, in the spirit of the upcoming trip, here are a few themed shots!

Tragic and Unfortunate News

So this is a little change in pace from the normal postings, but it is a message that has to be spread. This past month has been devastating to several families who have suffered a loss. The main cause, bullying. I have posted on this topic over and over again, and it seems nothing really happens. This type of behavior has to stop. As people are being emotionally and physically hurt. To bully someone else only degrades who you are as a person.

Just a a few quick notes on what I have noticed, what I have dealt with, and how I feel. In case you still haven't gathered, I am gay, and I am very proud to be. I am not out to everyone because of extenuating reasons, and I know how it feels to be alone. Believe me, it is a mind twister to have to live two lives. If you met me, you probably wouldn't know and it really doesn't matter, as I am who I am and that makes me, ME.

To those suffering now, believe me, it is tough, but suicide is not the answer. I have been there myself a few times and even attempted on a few accounts. But it is not the answer. You are giving into the tormentors and assholes who feel it is their purpose to bully others. If you need help, please seek it, I did. You are not alone, it may feel that way, but you are not. People are out there to help you work through tough times and live your life better.

To those who bully. My only real question and response here is: "Why do you do it?" "What does it benefit you?" "Do you feel stronger, bigger, tougher?" Think a little more about whose life you may be endangering, and take a few moments to put yourself in their shoes.

Thats all I have to say. Hopefully things will be better in the coming months.

Folsom Street Faire 2010 RECAP!

Hey Everyone!

You voted and the pictures are in! The 2010 Folsom Street Faire was a blast! Lots of people (hot guys), Warm weather, leather, and so much more! If you have never been to the Folsom Street Faire, I recommend you go at least once. It is one of those events where just about anything goes. You can run around in very fancy gear, or nothing at all! It is one of San Francisco's most interesting events and one of the United States Premiere Fetish events.

Ok, enough talk, here is a few of the photos from the event and a little storyline as to how the day went!

It all started off with a quick walking of Folsom Street in normal attire...

And then it got too warm to be walking around in all black... So to the Costco Parking Garage we parked in for a change. After a few minutes and several weird looks.

Ok, so after a little rough spot in my life, I am back in action and back to posting on a more regular schedule on the blog. Nothing too much to elaborate on, but it was just a little family hardship that needed to be tended to, and thus took all my attention. But I am happy to be back and happy to be posting once again. Midweek Food for Thought

Over the past few months, I have been toying with the idea of self image and what niche people generally fit into. There are the normal everyday people (great song btw) and there are the work / ethical people, there are the abnormal people, and of course, the ones who clearly stand out against the grain.

I have always considered myself one who lives my life contrary to what other think. And it is always interesting to see peoples reactions to this. Back in High School, my style of clothing, niche if you will, was more along the lines of Gothic. Yes the drawn out, black, dark clothing, eyeliner, the whole nine yards. My mom always used to say that I did it for attention, which wasn't accurate. I did it because I could and because I was comfortable doing it!

Anyway, long story short. Most of you know I have a modeling career on the side of my normal school work studies. And I think I will stick with what worked back in the day and continue in my little niche ;) Oh, and here are a few photos from those days and a few of the looks I am hoping to achieve in some upcoming shoots.

And I can see it now ;) Yes, these are from a few years back (4 to be precise) and I was just beginning to get in shape... Things are different now. Oh, and here is what I am hoping to achieve:

Lots of Fun and Definitely Interesting

The image above is one that many know well for several reasons. You may know that the building is in San Francisco, you may also know that it is the San Francisco Armory, but some of you know it is home to something truly interesting.

Today, I was invited to take part in a few scenes of a filming for Kink.com, specifically KINKMEN. An adult bondage site devoted to promoting the trade and providing a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for those who wish to take part in the activities. As some of you know, I do take part in adult films from time to time to have a little fun and to make a little extra income. So it is a perfect balance.

Well, today started off with a trip to San Francisco to the Armory for the shoot. I cannot give out too many details but there are several hot scenes! It was very hot to work with Van Darkholme as he laid out the scenes. Also, it was great to not only take part in the scenes, but also witness the behind the scenes action that goes on. Cameras, assistants, audience, and directors all fill the room to make sure the shoot looks its best.

Anyway, just a quick post to reflect on the day and extend my thanks to Kink.com and the very friendly staff and directors for a fun day! I am looking forward to continuing my work and will keep you updated from time to time.

Weekly Posting {August 4th, 2010} "Mountaineering"

Greetings everyone!

As some of you may know, I have just returned from a very pleasant trip from Yosemite National Park. The plan was simple for this trip, have a good time, refresh from the stresses of life, and get to the summit of a mountain. We arrived near the park on Monday evening and made camp to acclimate to the altitude of about 8,000 feet above sea level. The following day was an adventure around the Mono Lake, California area to see the beautiful lake and other sights nearby. After the short expedition, we headed back up Lee Vining Canyon to a campground near Yosemite. We made camp near Ellery Lake, California at an elevation of about 9,900 feet above sea level. The plans for the next day were to climb / hike to the summit of Mt. Dana, a mountain peak that reaches an overall height of 13,061 feet above sea level, or about 3,100 feet above the campsite we were in.

Early that morning, our campground had these views:

Just to let you know, the temperature when the above pictures was taken was around 40 degrees, so it was a bit chilly for the summertime. The peak in the background is one of the rims that comes off of Mt. Dana and peaks around 11,000 feet, about 2,000 feet below the peak. If you have never been to upper Yosemite near Tuolumne Meadows and Mono County, you should take the trip!

After the above pictures, we packed up camp and headed up the road to a location a little closer to Mt. Dana and the main trail head to the peak. Normal gear was packed and we headed out. 4 hours later and a strenuous climb of about 3,000 feet, we made it to the summit of Mt. Dana.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I was also eligible for a Guiness World Record for highest climb in a Speedo. All that I needed to do was get to the top, take a few photos and have on a Speedo. Check, check, and check! Here are the photos:

The climb was a lot of fun, it was a great trip overall and definitely felt good to complete the climb. The total hike round trip covered 6.2 miles in about 6.5 hours. We ascended a total of 3,105 feet and arrived at the summit around 2pm.

Weekly Posting! {July 29th, 2010} "Less is More?"

A few weeks ago, a reader sent me an email asking if I had ever heard of a male competitive swimmer competing in a swimming thong. Now, it took a bit of research, but it turns out that it has been done, just never out in public nor in a true race...

As most of you probably know by now, the full bodysuits and other advanced performance swimwear have been banned by several swimming authorities, like FINA or the NCAA. I myself have a few suits that I used to compete in lying about because I cannot use them. I forget who originally mentioned it, but I am sure a philosopher came up with the notion that less is truly more. What I mean by this is two things, one, the Speedo swimsuit currently has too much fabric that absorbs water and slows the swimmer down, and two, the suits cover the important muscle groups. So, for this weeks post, I bring you a few photos of me in a Speedo thong, and over the coming weeks, I will be testing it in a pseudo competitive environment and will bring you the results.

And as far as I can tell, thongs are quite comfortable to swim in. They do not restrict motion, ride higher on the hips than any other suit style, and provide support and coverage where it is needed, as come on, an ass is an ass! Anyway, that is my latest little experiement, now a few photos of the newest suit to be added to my collection!

All About Feedback

This is an interim post that I wanted to talk a little about before making the weekly image posting later today. As some of you know, I enjoy reading the emails that you send in saying what you like and maybe didn't like about the blog. I will always respond if the criticism is constructive and has an actual meaning.

You may be wondering what types of feedback I receive and how I usually try to respond to it all. Usually it is a brief email supporting a new post, or perhaps an answer to a question I have posted, sometimes I do get criticism. It is really varied. I am happy to report that I receive very little "Hat-email" or hatemail.Though, unfortunately, some people feel the need to harass. Just remember, I am who I am and I will be who I want to be!

For almost all blogs feedback is extremely important in creating a good relationship between the author and the reader. In my case, several hundred readers and one author. This is the reason why on every post there are three types of feedback, the ratings, and the comments.

I highly encourage everyone to keep the emails coming in! I do respond and I do try to respond promptly. If you have a question, have some criticism, or just wish to say hello, please do! I love hearing from my readers and responding to your emails!

If you have an idea for a future post or have a request, send them in!

A Challenge in the Midst....

Earlier this evening I was chatting with a friend, and a crazy idea popped into my head. Lately I have been thinking about things to do to gain a little more awareness of the blog and about the infamous Speedo style swimsuit and how its 50 years of influence have definitely made the lives of many more enjoyable. I know mine has been!

So I had this little idea about where I could wear a Speedo swimsuit to that would make it record worthy. This location couldn't be a landmark, as that is too regular and expected, couldn't be to a famous place, as that too would just be a repeat of what I have done and will continue doing... So how about on a mountain ascent?

Yes, a full on hike and climb to the summit of a Mountain in California. Now, this poses some definite questions and some very clear answers. I do know that this has possibly been done in Europe or in the USA or North America for that fact, but I want it to be official and challenge others to break the record (safely).

On that premise, I will be ascending Mt. Dana, which rises to an elevation of 13,061ft above sea level, on the Eastern Yosemite National Park Boundary near Tioga Pass during the week of August 2nd - 5th, 2010. Now, I am not about to just don a Speedo and run up a hill, as that would be nonsense (fun though) and not really prove much aside from a few neat pictures in the end. So here are a few things to go along with the challenge...

Since the Speedo officially turned 50 this year, I would like to commemorate this occasion with the ascent. I am getting in touch with Speedo about a possible custom suit for the occasion.

Next, I would like to try and help out a charity relating to the GLBT community as a way to give back for all they have done for me and for many others the world over. Also, its a great way to support a charity and raise awareness.

And finally, I would possibly like this to become a tradition in a sense. Not for fame or glory, but as an awareness and fun event that brings people together for a good cause.

Ok, now the fine print and agreement stuff:

I will be climbing the mountain sometime during the week of August 2nd - 5th, 2010, and will make it to the top of Mount Dana, California safely and in a Speedo and essential hiking gear. (Hydration pack, Hiking boots, and other equipment I deem as necessary to make the ascent safely). Since this is a high peak, I want to be as safe as possible ;). And I want this to be a charitable event, though since it costs a bit of money upfront to fund the trip, I will donate 50% of the monies raised for this event to an LGBT related charity. Some in the running are the World Aids Foundation, and others.

Whew, a lot of typing for this one, but I wanted it to be as clear as possible. I want your input! Please, if you have any input on this and any suggestions you may have. Just a Thought...

Over the past couple of days I have been negotiating terms with a so called modeling agency about possibly signing with them and pursuing my modeling career further. I am unhappy to report that things did not go necessarily as planned, but it is for the better.

No, it was not my looks, or unwillingness to work with them, but I almost became victim of a well used Scam. The way it works is the agency or agent makes contact with the perspective model. From there, the agent then attempts to get the model to pay an Upfront Fee (a larger one) for the signing. If the model declines to pay the fee the gig is up.

I am not going to rant on about why or how this happens, but instead just toss a little advice out to anyone who is in my situation and looking. Do your homework well before making any choices and be very wary of "fees." I know in the future there are other opportunities and I am looking forward to them, as this was a nice bit of flattery, but in the end nothing more than a classic bait and switch scam.

Ok, enough on that! This week, my second video comes out. Look for a post on Wednesday about it!

Back from Yosemite!

Hello everyone!

I have returned from Yosemite National Park in great shape and had a decent time exploring California's back country. The purpose of this trip was for two reasons. One, I am a contracted mapper for the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and I was contracted out to map out a particular peak, and second, we made it into a formal hiking / climbing trip. So it was a fun trip!

I do know that the blog is mainly geared towards me wearing spandex clothing, and I do have a few photos, but if you would like me to post more photos from the trip, let me know!

Ok, so here are a few of the spandex related photos from the trip...

For climbing and hiking, I love to wear a surfing rashguard for a number of reasons. For one, they fit great and keep you very comfortable temperature wise. And also, they are designed to protect your skin from the sun and rock rash! So they make a perfect shirt for hiking and climbing. Here are a few photos:

Rashguards make very nice hiking shirts as you can see. And for reference, the peak in the background is Conness Peak. It rises to 12,567ft above sea level and is mostly Granite. A very challenging climb as well!

Ok, moving onto after the hike...

Where we were camping, there was an alpine lake called Saddlebag Lake. The surface elevation is 10,167ft. And, just an an FYI for later in the post, the water temperature is a cool 31 degrees Fahrenheit. It is cool enough that snow floats in it and yet high enough that water will not freeze at the traditional 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

The friends I was with dared me to go into the lake for a quick dip and if I completed the task, I would be epic for doing so and would get to be lazy around camp. Basically, I would get to sit back and be treated like royalty for the rest of the trip. Sounds like a deal right? Yeah it was. And as proof, we took photos.

I had my swim bag with me, but in order to use the space efficiently, I took all my swim gear out and thus only had one suit. So for these photos, I bring back the classic black speedo!

Before diving in, everything looks great! I'm feeling happy, got a smile on my face, a bit of suspense building...

And still more apprehension...

Quoting myself some, yeah more stalling...

And then it hit me... I don't know how many of you have gone from a comfortable 75 degrees Fahrenheit to a cool 31 degrees, but it really does hurt. You can actually feel the parts that are submerged starting to pretty much go instantly numb...

I think it is the fastest and shortest period of time I have been in and out of the water!

And the picture above shows just how I felt afterward. What am I saying? I am afraid it is something a bit unfriendly... ;) I'll leave it you to guess.

The reddish color is not a sunburn, but rather a cool burn from the water.

And the last photo, when I asked the women taking the photos how this one got in there, she just claimed I had a nice ass... SO I figured it deserved a post.

So there you have it. My lovely Yosemite trip for the season so far. I am planning a trip back later this month for another mapping expedition. I will try to bring along a few other suits for next time also! If you would like me to post other more scenic photos from the trip, please let me know and I will do so.

Off to Yosemite National Park

I am heading off to Yosemite National Park in the Majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains in California today! I will return with pictures a plenty and many tales to tell. I am going on a climbing trip with a few friends / club members of the university climbing club.

Just an Aside...

Over the past few weeks, as many of you know, I have applied or been considered for several modeling agencies of various disciplines. And of course, after the several usual questions, I am often asked one major question...

"Will you consider cutting your hair?"

This does cause a few different emotions in me and I am sure it would be along the same lines to someone as: "Would you shave your beard?" or perhaps "Would you shave your legs?"

So I thought for this post, yes a tad off topic, I would cover my thoughts on having long-er hair than most men in the world today.

To begin, a brief history in the whereabouts of long hair and how men became accustomed to having it. As it turns out, because of the lack of tools to cut long hair, it dates back into the times BC and even before that I am sure. Though, I do agree that before then we were probably covered in more body hair (depending on which view you have) and long hair was never an issue. Even dating back to the early colonial period and even the early American times, men usually had longer hair as it was usually a fuss to have it cut or manicured by a barber.

Now, I am not trying to present that I may be lazy or from prehistoric times, but I must say that I love having long hair!

I believe that having long hair sets me apart from all the rest of the men out there. It is almost comparable with having a body covered in tattoos, or a face full of piercings. It is what makes me feel and look DIFFERENT!

Of course, being different means I am against the grain of society and most people will automatically be against me for that reason. I am not the normal "clean cut" American man who dresses in a fancy suit every day or wears an expensive outfit. I am me and I love being me.

I am getting a little bummed out every time I hear from someone, "Would you consider cutting your hair..." as my answer is usually just a flat no. For those of you who ask me if I would consider it (and I know this will probably make some unhappy) but it is the same as me turning back and asking if you would change a notable feature of yourself in order to "fit in" with society.

To set this straight and end on a stern note. No I am not considering cutting my hair and No I have No plans to cut it anytime soon, for a job, for personal preference, not even for swimming. I do not find that it gets in my way and I enjoy having it. Also, you may want to know that I frequently (When I have it trimmed) donate my hair to Locks of Love, a charitable organization devoted to providing cancer patients with "Wigs" and such to make it appear as if they have a full head of hair. My mother is one of my recipients. They claim I take exceptional care of my hair and do not notice that I actually swim with it.

So please, consider this before asking, would you be willing to change a notable feature about you? Or would you be willing to make a drastic change so that you will fit in with the rest of society, or do you like being who you are as an individual. Please think that through before asking me if I will cut my hair.
